Juan Carlos Castagnino

1908
He was born in Mar del Plata, November 19th.
1928
He studies at the Mutuality of Fine Arts and at the Superior School of Fine Arts, Buenos Aires.
1932-1938
He works in the ateliers of Spilimbergo, Victorica and Gómez Cornet.
1933
He acts as assistant of Siqueiros in the realization of a mural togheter with other painters.
Prize Stimulus National Salon.
1939
He attended André Lothe's atelier in Paris.
1941
Graduated like architect at the University of Buenos Aires.
1942
He travels through Italy, Spain and France.
1943
Third National Prize of Painting.
1944
Second National Prize of Painting.
1948
First National Prize of Painting. Presentation in the competition "Palanza".
1952
Travel to Asia
1956
Great Prize of Honor, Ministry of Education.
1957
Prize "Enrique Prins", National Academy of Fine Arts.
1958
Medal of Honor in Painting at the International Fair of Brussels.
Special guest to the First Biennial of Porto Alegre.Brazil.
1959
Great Prize of Honor of the National  Salon."
1960
He resides in Mexico and knows Central America . Prize special to the Drawing in Second Biennial Interamerican of Mexico.
1963
Prize of Honor "International Salon of Saigón."
He participate sat the Biennial of San Pablo and in the argentinean exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art of Paris.
1964-1966
He settles down in Rome, where he realizes exhibitions and travels through Europe.
1972
He died in Buenos Aires, April 21th.
